The issue that is most important to me..

In Friday night's first Presidential debate, they were asked about the current finanical/economic crisis. Both said they'd order a spending freeze. McCain said he'd allow for money to pay for Veteran Affairs. Obama said he would allow money for Early Child learning.
The most important issue to me is education and health services to our children. They are not able to provide these things to themselves, and these are basic rights each American should have.
I want a President who is going to work to ensure that our future of tomorrow, today's children, will be able to have a future.

September 19-21- Spina Bifida

Center for the Courageous Kids

Every single time I come back from CCK, my heart grows larger and I fall even more deeper in love with life.
One of the best moments of the weekend: Mom came up to me after I played with her son and told me how wonderful it was to see all of the volunteers playing and loving. We got to talking and I told her that it was a treat for us to be able to play with the children because we got to experience love in the purest form: unconditional love from a child. As we continue talking, she started crying and looked at me saying, "You get it." That is when I realized I really do get it.

I love love love that place. It is a vaction from the real world and allows me to get back to a world where I love. A world that I want to make a constant reality for me one day.

I went to Casey Elementary School yesterday. It was really nice to see Pam and get to spend the afternoon with her. She has a child in her class and it breaks my heart to hear "Jan'es" (not child's real name) story. Her parents have abused her all of her life, her hands are burnt up, and she was sexually abused. What kind of person could do that to another person? To a child who can't make decisions for themselves... to someone who is powerless compared to an adult?

On a lighter note, Pam lent me some Language Arts materials so I can plan my lessons for Newspaper at CC. Woo hoo.
